San Pantaleo

Local Area

Sardinia offers a unique experience quite different to visiting the Italian mainland.  Whilst the island’s known for its long summers and becomes noticeably quieter and cooler between October and May, beautiful San Pantaleo won’t fail to charm you with its year-round welcome.

San Pantaleo

A few minutes drive from the villa or a 15-minute walk, this charming village bursts with local Galluran character.  Voted as one of the UK Telegraph's 19 Most Beautiful Italian Villages, it's a relaxed and bohemian home for artists, one-off boutiques, stone cottages, watch-the-world-go-by cafes, gelateria and restaurants catering to every taste.  In summer it's pretty tucked-away piazza buzzes at sunset and late into the evening, although there's always something going on year-round.  San Pantaleo hosts a renowned market on Thursday mornings which is an absolute must-do, although we recommend taking advantage of being “a local” by going on foot in high season - it’s super popular!

Porto Cervo

It was not until the late 1950's that the Costa Smeralda was "discovered" by Prince Karim Aga Khan IV who promptly commissioned the eco-sensitive low-rise resort and marina that is Porto Cervo.  Ever glamorous, it remains a favoured playground of the rich and famous today, be it royalty, billionaire jet-setters, Hollywood A-listers or Russian oligarchs.  It’s worth at least one stroll to take in its glitzy boutiques and dining spots, mega yachts and pulsating night-life, if only to make returning to the peaceful haven of Case Pantaleo all the more relaxing.  Porto Cervo’s market is on Friday mornings in summer on the right side of the road into town from Abbiadori.

Porto Cervo

Cannigione

This quietly special seaside resort and marina offer a yester-year Sardinian experience to high-octane Porto Cervo, with excellent shopping (local homewares, clothes and food), low-key dining and a market on Tuesdays in summer.  It also makes a good option on Thursday mornings when San Pantaleo is ultra-busy.
